Western Kingbird again. On image 3642 and subsequent I upped the ISO to 1000 and dropped the exposure time to 1/4000 second in order to “freeze” it as clearly as possible.

The view from Cutler Dam Road.

A few days ago at Cutler Marsh.

Two views of the Milky Way over Thatcher, Utah:

Some panoramas from Thursday, showing the Tremonton and Fielding, Utah, areas. Of note are the clouds, which appear to be melting, or spilling out… a feature I’ve noticed in the higher altitude areas, during days of high temperature.

Every summer, several birds of this species take up residence in my workshops gutters. They are very territorial, and will hover over me and “peep” angrily at me if I get too close to their nest. Anybody know what species this is?

Seems my recent aurora panorama was interesting enough to get on the MSNBC photo blog:

Iowa.

As seen on Spaceweather.com.
